COCONUT CARIBBEAN COCKTAILS | TURTLE BAY

COCONUT CARIBBEAN COCKTAILS | TURTLE BAY

This week I was invited to a VIP launch party for Turtle bay on Hanover street in Liverpool and had a brilliant night!

Once I gave my name in and was let across the red velvet ropes, I walked the red carpet- YES you read that right! They had a red carpet- and found it very hard to restrain myself from posing for the imaginary paparazzi.

I was soon escorted to a table and given a drinks menu by the friendly and very energetic staff with a selection of wine, beers, cocktails and mixers. The cocktails really caught my eye and I tired a few of them ... or five. My favourite had to be a Koko Kanu Coconut Caribbean cocktail! I LOVE coconut! It was one of the best coconut cocktails i've had. And while sipping the exotic cocktails I was instantly transported to a tropical island, surrounded by sunshine and lapping waves. I also really liked the Bay Bramble as it was very sweet and made with White rum, blackberry brandy, fresh lemon & club soda.

There was also a range of canapes to sample, which I really enjoyed. There was Jerk chicken- which was AMAZING & I haven't had it before so I was intrigued to try, pork, jerk ribs- which were spiced to perfection, steak, prawns, duck rolls, and chicken wings. I also tried goat for the first time, which was interesting! Overall the food was lovely, so happy I got to try a lot of different foods as I feel it really gave me a taste of the Caribbean.

What really tied everything together so nicely was the live music from Troy Ellis & His Hail Jamica Reggea Band and Laid Blak. Both of these bands totally incapsulated the spirit of the Caribbean and immersed you in Jamaican culture.

I had a great time at Turtle Bay and will definitely be going back soon for another Koko Kanu Coconut Caribbean cocktail!
