This weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to a special thai food tasting event at Busaba in Liverpool, Hanover Street! I took my best friend along and we had an AMAZING time!

After being very much welcomed by the helpful & friendly staff, we were seated in our own private booth and introduced to the thai chef who would be serving us.

The chef, Kirt, taught us all about the different thai spices & sauces used in their traditional dishes. We got to try a lot of the sauces with chicken, prawns, prawn crackers, mango & cucumber to sample the different flavours, spices, textures and to see what sauce best complements what food-which was very interesting to learn. I especially loved the chicken sauce as it had a very unique blend of sweet, savoury & spice that really went well together.

Once we were done tasting all the sauces & spices of Thailand, we were shown to the bar where we had our very own cocktail master class! This was probably my favourite part as we got to make our own cocktails, learn about the different ingredients used & how to prepare it at home- all while sipping on a jasmine infused cocktail (which I would highly recommend)!

My favourite cocktail of the night had to be the 'Coconut Collins', It's very similar in taste to a Piña colada but smoother in texture and made with Koko Kanu Jamaican coconut rum, pineapple, lime topped up with soda lemongrass and ginger.

After finishing our drinks, we took our seats for our meal and spent ages looking through the menu at all the delicious options. There were honestly about 5 different meals I would like on the menu and as a fussy eater... that's never happened before. Eventually we both went for a Thai classic; Chicken Pad Thai. And loved it!
