For our mains, we all chose a pasta dish- it was ‘impastable’ not to!
I let my Instagram followers decide my main for me between their carbonara and Pollo Alla Milanese. The one with the most votes was the Pollo Alla Milanese- Breaded crispy chicken breast served with spaghetti arrabbiata. I was excited about this one, as I haven’t tried that before. I didn’t expect the pasta itself to be as flavourful as it was which was a lovely surprise! I thought the breaded crispy chicken paired incredibly well with the pasta and sauce and gave it a more interesting flavour profile too. This dish served up all the flavour with a hint of spice and plenty of garlic- has to be one of my new favourite dishes!
For my mums main, she selected the King Prawn Linguini, made with Linguini pasta served with king prawns, red pepper, onion, chilli, garlic and dill sauce. Both my mum and dad enjoyed this dish as they decided to do a little mix & matching with their meals- we can’t not can we! My mum mentioned how much she liked the dill sauce, saying it really worked well for this dish. You could tell this meal was a definite hit when my dad started stealing a few prawns off my mum when she wasn’t looking! Unfortunately, as I’m allergic to shellfish I couldn’t try any of this one but I made up for that with the next one!
My dad picked the Lasagne for his main, made with Oven-baked pasta layers with meat sauce, bechamel sauce topped with parmesan cheese. An Italian classic! He was very impressed with the quality of the food and even said it was one of the best lasagne he’s had in a while! The flavour was lovely and it was baked to perfection to give the top layer those little crispy spots.
