Scouse Bird Gin | Liverpool's new favourite gin!

Scouse Bird Spirits kindly gifted me a bottle of their gin to review!

First things first, the bottle. Just look at how pretty this bottle is! Such a gorgeous logo and beautiful pink gin colour! I love how the logo encapsulates the essence of Liverpool’s Scouse birds with the classic leopard print, hair rollers, heals, gin in hand and the famous Liver birds in the background. This bottle captures the spirit of Liverpool in a fun, aesthetically pleasing way.

Now we’ve talked about the visible beauty of this gin, lets dive into the flavour…

Made with rose, orris root & grapefruit, this gin offers a unique blend of flavours. I really enjoyed the presence of grapefruit as it wasn’t too overpowering like grapefruit can sometimes be. I loved the delicate notes of rose as it worked so well and gave it a hint of floral throughout. The orris root also provided a nice sweet, almost parma-violet flavour which complimented it nicely.

I like how this gin doesn't rely heavily on the usual juniper flavour but instead uses botanicals to create its unique flavour. All of these components work great together and provide an interesting, authentic approach to pink gin.

in my ‘Gin-pinion’, this lovely pink gin works best with a plain tonic water such as fever tree or lemonade as you don’t want to overwhelm the flavour profile of the gin with a flavoured tonic. It’s best to let all of those great notes to come through themselves with an accompanying tonic or lemonade to compliment it perfectly. My personal fave is a fever tree Indian tonic water or if you really do want a flavoured tonic, try fevertree’s elderflower tonic as its offers a hit of elderflower, which I think goes well with any drink!

I really enjoyed tasting this gin, it will definitely make a good addition to my gin collection! Let me know how you drink your Scouse bird gin.. are you a tonic or lemo kind of scouse bird?

Make sure to get your gin fix from scousebirdshop and browse all of their other lovely products available too!

Thank so much to Steph (Scouse Bird) & Scouse Bird spirits for gifting me your gin! It was Gin-tastic! 🍹
