Liverpool's Favourite Hidden Gem | The Smugglers Cove

You know the food's good when everyone's quiet, too busy enjoying their meal!

It’s always a treat to visit the hidden gem that is The Smugglers cove! I’ve worked with them before and they’ve been kind enough to let me work with them again!

The new menu at The Smugglers Cove looks delicious and includes their take on a Liverpool favourite, called 'Mother Redcap's signature scouse'. There was so much to choose from, we ended up giving in to a taste of their 'famous hanging kebabs'. I went for chicken, my cousin went for chicken too and my mum chose lamb. I'm always blown away by how amazingly tasty, succulent and flavourful @thesmugglerscove Kebabs are! You know the food's good when everyone's quiet, too busy enjoying their meal to talk. We hardly said a word to each other during our main 😂 It was that good! The chips themselves where a meal in itself too! We opted for the salt & pepper chips with our meals as we just couldn’t resist! I always think, if there’s an option for slat and pepper anything, go for it! We really liked how the salt and pepper flavours complimented the meal. I ordered a smugglers classic 'Strawberry colada' to wash down my meal. It has to be one of my fave cocktails- sweet, fruity, rum based and refreshing.

After having to unfasten my jeans button to make room, we ordered dessert. I went for their new pina colada sundae and wasn't disappointed! Made with rum, buttered caramel sauce, ginger biscuits and coconut ice cream- this dessert is the ultimate after dinner treat! It was so morish and really captured that classic pina colada flavour! My cousin went for the baked chocolate chip cookie dough, made with butterscotch sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream. I think it's safe to say he enjoyed it as there wasn't even a crumb left! It was the perfect ratio of crunchy on the outside and warm, pillowly soft on the inside. My mum selected the new peach melba which is made with peaches, raspberries, ameretti biscuits, raspberry sorbet and vanilla ice cream. She found it to be a very refreshing, delicious and light dessert, perfect after a big meal.

I really loved the ambiance and atmosphere of The Smugglers Cove- it’s so cosy, relaxed, rustic and of course has a low-key smuggler theme. The decor inside does a fantastic job of transporting you to a smuggler’s homely paradise filled with amazing food, excellent service and lots of rum!

Overall, we had an incredible meal at @thesmugglerscove. I think @thesmugglerscove has to be one of my all time favourite restaurants. Not just because of the excellent food & service but because of the perfect location! it was so lovely to eat good food and look out at the albert dock! If you're in the Liverpool area, definitely put this on your list of places to visit! 🍹😄😍

Thanks @thesmugglerscovefor inviting me to come in!
