A TASTE OF THAILAND | YEE RAH

A TASTE OF THAILAND | YEE RAH

Yee Rah In Liverpool ONE recently invited me to come in and do a review of their food, drinks & atmosphere.

Yee Rah has a very authentic & original ambience that captures the experience of Thai culture, food & drinks.

To start

After looking at their extensive menu, I chose to go for the DEEP FRIED HALLOUMI with garlic mayonnaise & my plus one, Hartage, picked the Spring rolls.

I really liked the Halloumi's cheesy taste a lot more than I expected, as I have never tired it before. I thought the garlic mayonnaise complemented it very well and I enjoyed the texture of the Halloumi's crispy outside and soft, gooey inside that just melts in your mouth.

Hartage said his spring rolls were perfectly crispy and tasted so fresh & delicious. He also commented on how well the spicy sweet chilli sauce went as well.

Mains

Deciding what to have to mains was tricky as there were many good options. I chose to go for the chicken pad thai and Hartage went for the beef Teriyaki.

I absolutely loved the chicken Pad Thai! it was flavourful, the nuts added a good crunchy texture and the lime gave it a nice zesty taste.

Hartage's beef teriyaki was very colourful, bursting with flavour & a peppery crunch and the rice was perfectly fluffy!

Cocktails

Throughout the evening our server, Karolina, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. When she brought over the cocktail menu she very kindly gave use some recommendations.

I opted for the 'bubblegum sour' & Hartage went for Karolina's recommendation of the 'When in Thailand'.

I really liked my bubble gum sour, it was very sweet and definitely tasted of bubblegum- or more like hubba bubba.

Hartage mentioned his when in Thailand cocktail tasted very fruity and was the perfect blend of berries.

Desserts

Once we were handed the dessert menu, there was a very big choice to make. Chocolate cake or waffles?

We solved this by me getting the chocolate cake & Hartage getting the waffle, as we both mainly wanted the desserts for some food Instagram photos 😍

The chocolate cake I had called the 'DOUBLE TROUBLE CHOCOLATE CAKE' (which I didn't know before ordering was for sharing 😂) was THE BIGGEST SLICE OF CAKE I HAVE EVER SEEN! And the most chocolatey. There was also some hidden caramel saucy goodness in the middle! There was no possible way I could finish this cake but it was the most gooey and tasty cake I have even had.

Hartage's 'BELGIAN WAFFLE' had a distinctly homemade taste. The ice cream and chocolate sauce went very well with it and melted slowly over the waffle creating more flavour and texture.

Service

The service at Yee Rah was great! Karolina was a lovely waitress who made us laugh and gave us some great recommendations.
